The sandy beach of Finestrat (which is part of the town Villajoyosa) is located near to other small beaches and profits of an extraordinary microclimate, due to the fact that the mountains protected this particularly beach from the southern wind. Therefore, when you visit the beach, you can profit from the sun all day long, without any shadow. Also underwater, water and beach sports are one the many possibilities. But there’s more: nearby you can find many amusement parks for the children and the indoor shopping center ‘La Marina’ at only 1,5 km distance.

img

Golf

The whole year around you can golf on many golf courts, f.e. the 18 holes golf court ‘Villaitana’ Levante (par 72) and Poniente (par 62) at 3 minutes distance from Villa Alegria. The Sierra Cortina 18 holes ‘Pitch and Putt’ court is located in front of the villa. Ideal for beginners, but also nice for the pro’s and do not forget, the children!

img

If you have had enough of the golf courts, swimming, playing tennis, workout, cycling or just doing absolutely nothing in the tranquilizing environment of Sierra Cortina, you can always visit Benidorm, located just a few minutes from the villa. You will find hundreds of bars, restaurants, (do not forget the tapas bars located close to the Plaza de la Constituto and Santo Domingo), and an enormous and bubbly nightlife! The city itself has stylish boulevards and lots of beautiful stores, which are daily opened.

img

Benidorm Balcon

The iconic castle has been declared one of the most picturesque castles of Spain, so it’s certainly worth a visit while strolling the old town. You can pass by the boulevard at the Levante beach, in direction of the old town, and it will lead you straight to the famous ‘Balcón del Mediterraneo’ and the viewpoint of the castle. You will experience a wide view over the Levante and Poniente beaches, as well as the colorful buildings of Benidorm.

img

Albir

Albir is a small village where you can still smell the authenticity and breath the splendid Spanish atmosphere! This is the ideal village for hibernating and relaxing all year around on one of the magnificent local terraces due to the fantastic climate (temperature never under 18 degrees). Behind the wide beach you will find a nice boulevard, which has a ‘walk of fame’. There you can admire all the stars, put there by several very famous Spanish actors and actresses, every year during the movie festival of L’Alfaz del Pi. This beautiful boulevard, which connects Albir and Altea, extends along the shore, covered with palm trees, several restaurants and terraces, gives you a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

img

Altea Antiguo

Who takes the effort to climb the hill, one kilometer landwards, will find himself in the old village of Altea and will experience a whole new world. Through the very old streets you can walk up and once arrived there, you will discover even more Spanish authenticity and intimacy. Round the church of ‘Virgen del Consuelo’ you can visit little streets with at some points craft shops, little fashion boutiques and restaurants. This village center is most certainly to be called characteristic. You cannot miss the church due to its beautiful blue domes. At the square nearby the church you have an amazing view over the rest of the village and the adjacent sea.

img

Guadalest

The previous fort of Guadelest is located on top of a mountain, at approx. 25 kilometers from Benidorm. Thanks to the ‘hanging castle’ Guadelest is a touristic attraction. The economy of El Castell de Guadelest is mainly based on tourism. There are many museums and historical buildings to be visited. But also many souvenir shops, restaurants and artworks. Even more, you can visit the castle ruins or make a boot trip on the reservoir, which is located down from Guadelest. A visit to this little town will be worth your while!

img

La Cala

The beach of La Cala is covered with yellow golden sand an clear blue water. This is also the mean reason why it gets a blue flag, award of the E.U., every year since 1988. Here also the mountains protect the beach from the southern wind and therefore it has an extraordinary microclimate. Lots of people love to come here to participate underwater, water and beach sports, like the famous international beach volleyball tournament which takes place ever year in the second half of August. Of course, you can find lots of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy local tapas.

img

Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa is well known for its seafaring tradition and its famous chocolate industry. This town has a 3 kilometer long fine sandy beach and numerous of nice spots to be visited, f.e. the colorful fronts, its fishing port and marina. The colorful fronts of the houses are one of the most notable features of the town. There is always lots to do at the marina and the fishing area. At the harbor the fishing boats are anchored while the west part is used as marina.

img

Fuentes del Algar

Behind the beaches lays the inland with its beautiful green landscape covered by wilderness, fresh air and beautiful clear blue water to cool off in. It’s there that the river ‘Algar’ roars down in amazing waterfalls, cascading down the rocks to end up in even more precious natural swimming pools. Which, for many years now, we refer to as ‘Les Fonts de l’Algar’. .

img

Alicante

Of all Spain's mainland provincial capitals, Alicante is the most influenced by tourism, thanks to the nearby airport and resorts. Nevertheless this is a dynamic, attractive Spanish city with a castle, old quarter and long waterfront. The eating scene is exciting and the nightlife is absolutely legendary, whether you're chugging pints with the stag parties at 7pm or twirling on the dance floor with the locals seven hours later. On per weekend night it's impossibly busy and buzzy year-round.
